Allison Lamminen CTC, CSAT, PCBC-A

Owner/Operator, Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant (she/her)

Allison is a 2016 graduate of Jean Donaldson's prestigious The Academy For Dog Trainers where she earned her Certificate in Training and Counseling (CTC). Through her studies in this program, she has committed herself to humane training methods based on the science behind how animals learn.

She also studied under the renowned Malena DeMartini Price, author of Treating Separation Anxiety in Dogs, to obtain her Certification in Separation Anxiety Training (CSAT) in 2016. Having specialized in separation anxiety training, Allison prioritizes these cases in hopes of helping as many dogs as possible to learn that being alone isn’t such a scary thing.

Since she was a kid, Allison has been an animal lover. She had pets growing up; dogs, cats and fish, and spent several summers attending horse camp. After taking an animal welfare course in college, Allison found a place in the animal rescue world. She strives to make the world a better place for animals to live. For close to five years, she volunteered with a local animal rescue. As a result of her passion for animal welfare, Allison found her calling: dog training.

Ahsoka: brindle

Ezra: Grey/White

Allison currently shares her home with her partner, Michael, and her dogs, Ahsoka and Ezra. Allison’s favorite part about training dogs is the fun that can be had during the process- for both the humans and the dogs. It can be so rewarding to teach a new trick, whether easy or difficult. Her main goal is to increase enrichment and mental wellness in all the dogs she works with.

Kristin is a 2020 Honors graduate of Jean Donaldson’s Academy for Dog Trainers where she earned her Certificate in Training and Counseling (CTC).

While a full-time practicing attorney in California, she was without a dog of her own at home for many years. So, Kristin got her “doggie fix” by volunteering at Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (“ARF”) in Walnut Creek, beginning in 2013. She completed ARF’s “Shelter U” program which provided a basic background in positive reinforcement and force-free handling. She then assisted with Puppy Manners, Basic Manners and Reactive Rover classes. She also spent some time as a Behavior Volunteer at Berkeley Humane. Currently, she assists with in-person puppy classes through Bravo!Pup in Northern California.

Kristin is intrigued with the application of known, scientific principles of animal learning to individual dogs. She recently welcomed her own dog into her family with the addition of Obed, a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Obed has been busy schooling Kristin on the real-life challenges of both puppyhood and teenager-dom!
